Q: I know the #1 quality I should look for in a husband is that He be a Christian. What is the #2 quality?
A: My challenge to you is to dig a little deeper than just regular church attendance and profession of faith. You want to know what his integrity as follower of Christ looks like on a daily basis. What does his faith look like? How does he live it at work? How does He live it in his relationship with you?
Solomon's bride-to-be was turned on by her husband's integrity. Before she was turned on by his looks or his performance in bed, she was turned on by his character:
"Your name is like perfume poured out.
No wonder the maidens love you!" Song of Solomon 1:3
It starts with character. Go beyond the words and get into his lifestyle. You do not want a guy that only lives out his faith on Sunday, and then lives for himself the other 6½ days of the week.
It thrills my soul that you are asking this question now. Be patient and wait for the guy who loves the Lord with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength. Don't settle.
